Sinkhole - a poem

The earth yawned wide open, swallowing everything in its path

A sinkhole of darkness, a chasm of wrath

It devoured a home without a trace

Leaving behind an empty space

But deep within the sinkhole's dreadful abyss

Lay secrets and mysteries shrouded in mist

Whispers echoed off the damp stone walls

ancient voices beckoned from forgotten halls

A single female and cat dared to venture into the unknown

Risking their lives to uncover what was shown

In the heart of the sinkhole, where shadows dance

Lies the key to unlocking fate's unyielding trance

For those who dare to peer into its depths

will find themselves tested in ways never guessed
